simplify yours (1)

Planners. Just hearing that word brings joy to my heart. I love them. The fact that I can become organized by color-coding and tracking everything in a planner just makes life so much easier.

But when it comes to finding that perfect planner, it is close to impossible. There are so many different types and layouts out there that it is so hard to pick what kind of planner is best for you. Just this school year, I have already gone through 3 planners trying to find the best fit for me.

Just when I was about to give up on finding a perfect planner, I learned about the Simply Yours Day Planner. Let me just tell you, with just a week of using it, I felt like I was finally able to piece my life back together and be on the right track once again.

With that being said, I am here to give you the Simply Yours Day Planner review.

The Cover

The Simply Yours Day Planner comes in 4 different covers: Gold Stripes, Pink/ Navy Strips/ Flower Garden and Navy Bliss.

Personally, my favorite cover is the Gold Stripes. All of the designs are really simple, yet pretty. It was so hard to pick which one I wanted!

Both the front and back covers are very thick and durable with metal spiral coil binding. The bind of this planner is amazing. After carrying it all around with me, there is not one dent in the cover and none of my papers ripped out.

Pick the Month to Start12674182_1280929625254310_1905661673_n

I have to say, I love the fact that when ordering your planner, you get to decide what month you want it to begin. Lets be honest, most planners begin in August or January so having the chance to start your planner at any month, allows you to order at any time of the year AND still be able to use the whole entire planner. Each planner has 12 months. Also, each month has text in a different color which is really eye-pleasing and energizing.

How cute is it that you have the option to personalize the front page of your planner? You can put your front name, your school, your business or whatever you are using this planner for.

It also has lines where you can put your contact information (cell phone number and email) incase you lose your planner.

General Set-Up

2016/2017 Tab

  • A Year at a Glance
  • Vacation/ Idea Planning- Provides lots of space for tracking travel fees and the itinerary.
  • Internet Passwords- Two pages for tracking the website, username and password.
  • Recurrent Monthly Bills and Quarterly/ Annual Bills- As a college student, paying bills is not something that is the most important to me, but soon in the future when I am living on my own, I am sure I will be able to put this to use.
  • Gift list- A page where you can keep count of all the gifts you have bought for people and how much you have spent.
  • Journal/ Thoughts- Two empty pages where that you can use for what ever you want. I used this page to test out my different pens.

Goals Section

This planner is great for helping you set your long-term and short-term goals. Throughout this section there are lots of reminders on how to set goals and gives you tips to help you throughout the process.

Each month section has…

  • A monthly calendar overview and things to do strip.
  • 7 Day week at a glance for to do lists, daily tasks, goal look backs plus exercise logging. With a smaller category for things to do and a shopping list.
  • Long and short-term goals continued.
  • One page for journaling/ thoughts.

As you can see above, I love washi tape. To be exact, I have a one gallon jar full of different colors, patterns and textures of washi tape. I love using washi tape for everything, so I put it to full use in this planner.

Not only that, but since I am in college, I fully utilize a color coding system. Each one of my classes has a different color. I find it visually appealing to my eyes and helps me sort out what needs to be done. I pulled out my planner during my psychology class, and my friend commented that she could just stare at my planner for hours. Here is an example of from my first week at using the Simply Yours Planner!

To be honest, I was never the biggest fan of planner with a week at a glance because I felt like there wasn’t  enough space and I was always running out. But as you can see, with the Simply Yours Day Planner, this was not the case. The weekly view gives each day a great amount of space with out the page being crowded.

Pen Test

One of the biggest struggle of finding an amazing planner that works for you, is having the right type of paper for your needs. I love the paper in this planner because it is smooth, glossy-like and thick. In the picture above, I selected all my favorite and most frequent used pens to test out if they bleed through to the other side of the page. As you can see, the only pen that truly bleeds through is the Sharpie- which is no surprise.

With my color coding system that I use, having good paper quality is important as I do not want my pens to bleed through to the other side. The fact that he paper quality is so good on this planner really exceeded my expectations.

In Conclusion

This planner is great for anyone who is looking to organize their life with simplicity. I am absolutely in love with this planner and I can not wait to use it for the rest of the year. The Simply Yours Day Planner is made with great quality,  and is well designed. The simple layout really helps you keep track of what is important and not get lost in the details.

As a planner addict, this planner is  affordable and totally worth every cent ($46). If you are some one who usually gets a $10 planner from the store, then it is totally understandable to why you might think otherwise. But let me tell you, considering how great the Simply Yours Day Planner is, it is quite the deal.

I’m a huge fan of planners in general and this one looks super interesting! I love the way you incorporate your washi tape and color coding too.

I would be so lost without my planner. I like that you were able to use different writing utensils on the pages because let’s be honest…I can never find a pen and end up using one of the kid’s markers or crayons!! 🙂

The reason why I wanted this planner is because I’ve been having trouble with staying organized and keeping up with my assignments in college constantly. Plus, I have so much to do such as; do assignments, attend classes, go to work, etc. With this planner, it would help me find what my assignment is for each week or what meetings I have to attend. Plus, the planner is so beautiful and appealing that it would be used 24/7. It also has space for me to write notes or ideas I have throughout the day.

I am a planner addict as well and I especially love this one because the cover, back and binding looks so sturdy!! I’ve tried so many different planners (even more expensive that this one) and either the binding gets messed up or the covers don’t hold up well.

I personally own a simply yours day planner and I must say it has more than exceeded my expectations. This planner is one of the best planners I have ever owned and is also very stylish. This planner is one that actually makes you want to plan and get organized. I recommend this product to anyone who is managing kids, school, or work.

I’ve never seen a planner that won’t let pens bleed through. I’ve spent close to $50 on a planner and not only do the pens bleed through easily, the front and back cover continue to bend every single day to the point where the layers of the “sturdy” material can be easily seen and even taken apart if I wanted to.
When I work with the preschool children and I have my planner up on a table, I let the kids draw on some of the ‘Notes’ pages (It’s honestly the best thing to look at later on) and their markers even bleed through, it’s ridiculous.
